THE CHALLENGE

A website with an
operational role.

DVTA serves translators, interpreters and language professionals. Its digital presence supports much more than public information: members join and renew, maintain professional profiles, register for events, make payments and receive association communications.

Those functions had grown across multiple WordPress plugins, custom code and separate tools. Interconnected membership, subscription, ticketing, directory and email systems made changes harder to manage and added steps for members and administrators.

DVTA needed a simpler foundation that could support both its daily work and future activities.

OUR APPROACH

Understand the dependencies.
Simplify the experience.

We planned the transition around the people and processes using the system, with continuity and practical testing at each stage.

01 / UNDERSTAND

Audit before changing.

Review membership, payments, events, profiles, custom code and email integrations. Identify overlap and map what depends on what.

02 / CENTRALIZE

Connect the core workflows.

Bring membership and event functions into a dedicated platform, with clearer paths for registration, renewals and account management.

03 / SIMPLIFY

Retire the old complexity.

Remove obsolete components after their replacements are operating. Correct old links and review critical functionality throughout the cleanup.

04 / SUPPORT

Stay involved after launch.

Help members and the board with access, profiles and administrative questions as the new workflows become part of daily use.

A CLEARER OPERATING MODEL

Two platforms.
Clear responsibilities.

WordPress remains the foundation of the public website. MembershipWorks became the primary system for core membership operations and event registration.

WORDPRESS

The public presence.

Website content, association information, event pages and the paths connecting visitors to the member experience.

MEMBERSHIPWORKS

The member experience.

Memberships, renewals, member accounts, the professional directory, payments and event registration.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

Connected tools.
Practical support.

MEMBERSHIP MIGRATION

A central home for membership.

We reviewed, organized and migrated member information to MembershipWorks; configured levels, pricing and benefits; and connected registration, renewals and payment workflows.

Sign-in, account management and password resets were implemented alongside updated membership pages. Record discrepancies and account-management processes were reviewed during the transition.

DIRECTORY & PROFILES

A professional community, easier to find.

The member directory was integrated into the updated experience, activated and tested. We supported profile-data migration and continued refining profiles as members reviewed and completed their information.

Duplicate accounts, incorrect details and access questions received direct attention.

EMAIL WORKFLOWS

Clearer next steps for members.

We configured and tested membership confirmations, renewal notices, account-access messages, password resets and event-registration templates.

Member contact records, mailing-list coordination and Mailchimp-related workflows were also reviewed to support more consistent communication.

MEMBER & BOARD SUPPORT

Help when the real questions arrive.

We helped members regain access, resolve duplicate profiles, correct account information and navigate renewals and upgrades.

Support extended to administrative access, payment and registration questions, and coordination with association leadership.

2026 DVTA SUMMIT / SEPTEMBER 12, 2026

Language Without Limits:
AI and the Human Touch.

The Summit needed clear event information and reliable registration for members and non-members.

  • Updated Summit website pages, sponsor information and event materials.
  • Configured and tested member and non-member registration in MembershipWorks.
  • Supported the transition away from WooCommerce-based ticketing.
  • Troubleshot registration and account issues as the event approached.

Palaeli Studio also participated as a Summit sponsor, supporting the language-professional community beyond the technical work.

CLEANUP & RISK REDUCTION

A lighter foundation
for the next stage.

Once core membership and event functions were operating through MembershipWorks, we retired obsolete WordPress components and the previous WooCommerce subscription workflow.

The cleanup removed unnecessary plugins and legacy database information, corrected or redirected old membership links, and reduced the risk of unintended charges through the former subscription system.

The result was a clearer separation of responsibilities and fewer systems for the association to maintain.

AFTER THE MIGRATION

The work continues.

A simpler system still needs care, useful improvements and communication that keeps the community connected.

ONGOING SUPPORT

Everyday digital operations.

WordPress maintenance, technical troubleshooting, membership questions, content changes, event updates and member-experience improvements continue as DVTA’s priorities evolve.

IN DEVELOPMENT & TESTING

Connected webinar workflows.

We are evaluating a process involving MembershipWorks, Zapier, Zoom, WordPress and email tools for follow-up, joining information, attendance and certificates.

Integration options and registration-event data have been tested. The complete workflow and certificate automation are still in development.

STRATEGY SHARED FOR REVIEW

A purposeful social presence.

An October–December 2026 strategy, informed by Instagram and LinkedIn performance, establishes monthly themes around professional insights, education, member expertise and events.

The strategy has been developed and shared for review. Future publishing is a separate step.

FROM LAUNCH TO EVERYDAY OPERATION

Better tools are only useful
when they work for people.

For DVTA, our role has been to understand accumulated systems, migrate essential functions carefully, simplify the foundation and stay involved as members and administrators use it.

That is the connection between a successful launch and dependable everyday digital operations.
